About this dive site

This dive site offers a unique opportunity to explore two sunken ferries, the MV Karwela and the MV Cominoland. The MV Karwela, a passenger ferry originally launched in 1957 and arriving in Malta in 1986, sank in August 2006 due to its large structure making it easily accessible from various points. It rests at a depth ranging from 32 to 40 meters, with both decks providing excellent views for divers. The MV Cominoland, used for tourist excursions to the island of Comino, also sunk in August 2006 as an artificial reef near the southeast coast of Gozo, approximately 70 meters from the entry point. Both wrecks are reported to be standing. Accessing the site can be challenging due to the rocky shoreline surrounding the area. Visibility is good at depth.
