About this dive site
This dive site, known as Xlendi Bay, is located on the southwest coast of Gozo island in the village of Xlendi. The bay offers a varied underwater landscape consisting of sandy areas interspersed with rocky formations and impressive cliffs. It’s a popular spot for both swimming and snorkeling. Two primary dive locations are featured: a fascinating 70-meter long tunnel cave and a vibrant reef teeming with marine life. This site is considered easy to moderate, making it ideal for beginners and those seeking introductory diving experiences. The deeper sections of the reef cater to more experienced divers undertaking technical training dives. Night diving in the shallow bay presents an enjoyable opportunity. Access to the dive sites is via a concrete diving platform on the south side of the bay, though the steps are often removed during winter months. Boat access is also available, but caution should be exercised when navigating the bay due to potential boat traffic and the possibility of rough weather conditions associated with southwesterly winds. Visibility can be significantly reduced after heavy rainfall due to runoff from the surrounding valley.
