About this dive site

This dive site is located on the east side of Pigeon Island Marine National Park, a region renowned for its stunning underwater beauty. It's an excellent choice for divers of all levels, particularly those seeking their first experience or looking to enhance their photography skills. The area begins with gentle slopes descending to depths between 6 and 12 meters. Expect to encounter diverse coral formations, including table corals, anemone corals, soft corals, and hard corals – a showcase of Sri Lanka's vibrant marine life. As you explore the coastline, following the sloping submerged terrain, you’ll discover sandy and rocky areas teeming with fascinating creatures such as Moray eels, stingrays, and beautiful nudibranchs. The south-facing reefs offer particularly rich encounters with abundant soft corals and anemones, providing a habitat for a wide variety of fish and benthic species. Please note that an entrance ticket is required to access and scuba dive in the back side bay.
